Purpose:
The vaccine is intended for preventive and therapeutic immunization of cattle and reindeer against necrobacillosis (footrot).
Description and characteristics:
In appearance, the vaccine is an emulsion from a white-yellow to light-grey color. During storage of the vaccine there will be a slight exfoliation of the mineral oil emulsion, its homogeneity is recovered by shaking the bottle. The vaccine is made from inactivated vaccine strain Fusobacterium necrophorum «O-1» with the addition of the oil adjuvant.
Method of vaccination:
The vaccine is used in accordance with the direction for use. Animals beginning at 6-8-months-old are subject to vaccination. The vaccine is administered intradermally using needleless injector BI-7 in the upper prescapular area: cattle - twice with an interval of 4-6 weeks at a dose of 0.4 cm3 (in two points at a distance of 7-10 cm by 0.2 cm3); reindeer – once in a dose of 0.2 cm3. Later cattle should be revaccinated with a double dose once every 6 months. Pregnant animals should be immunized at the latest 1 month before calving.
