Vaccine against swine erysipelas from the strain VR-2 live dry
Purpose:
The vaccine is intended for preventive immunization of clinically health swine against erysipelas.
Description and characteristic:
In appearance, the vaccine is a dry porous mass of light-beige to light-brown color, readily soluble in saline solution, consisting of a live culture vaccine strain Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae BP-2, lyophilized in a protective environment.
Method of vaccination:
Before applying the dry vaccine is diluted with sterile saline for injection at the rate of 1 cm3 of the solvent per immunizing dose. Reconstituted vaccine should be used within 4 hours. Piglets are vaccinated starting at 2 months of age twice with an interval of 25-30 days, 4 months swine are vaccinated once, sows are vaccinated 30-35 days prior to farrowing. Animals are revaccinated every 5 months. The vaccine is administered intramuscularly behind the ear or in the inner surface of the femur in doses of 1 cm3 regardless of the weight and age of the animal.
Immune response:
The vaccine triggers the immune response in young pigs on the 5-8th day after the double injection, and in swine older than 4 months of age it is after a single injection lasting no less than 5 months.
Production form:
The vaccine is packaged into 2-8 cm3 (10-200 doses) bottles of suitable capacity.
Storage and transportation conditions:
The vaccine is stored and transported in a dark place at a temperature from 2 to 8°С.
Shelf life -12 months.
